Year 10 Work Experience Dates 2021 - CANCELLED

The Year 10 work experience program will run from Monday June 21st, to Friday June 25th, 2021.

All year 10  students will participate in a range of career activities to assist with finding and securing a suitable work experience placement.
Due to the ongoing restrictions as a result of the COVID outbreak in Victoria, all Work Experience has been canceled as directed by the Department of Education.

WHAT DOES A BLOGGER DO?

A blogger writes articles and opinion pieces for websites. While they often work freelance for a range of clients, they can also be employed in-house. They write pieces that are less formal than traditional journalistic articles, with the main purpose of their work being digital marketing and search engine optimisation. The work they produce is designed to engage readers and drive website traffic.
 

Personal requirements for a Blogger

  • Creativity and originality
  • Ability to pick out and emphasise relevant facts
  • Able to write clearly and in a compelling manner
  • Good concentration
  • Technical ability to switch between styles and forms of writing
  • Good time management and ability to handle pressure

Need help navigating life after school?  The Transition to Work program supports students who are disengaged and/or having difficulty reaching their next steps.

Volunteering

Consider volunteering it can help you make new friends, learn new skills, advance your career and even make you feel happier and healthier in yourself.

Volunteering gives you the opportunity to practice important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, project planning, task management and organisational skills, just to name a few.

Studies show some of the personal benefits in being a volunteer include:

  • volunteering makes you happy
  • volunteering helps combat depression
  • volunteering helps counteract the effects of stress, anger and anxiety
  • volunteering increases self-confidence
  • volunteering provides a sense of purpose
  • volunteering help you stay physically healthy

Australian Defence Force Gap Year Program (Posted: 21/06/2021)

 Gap Year Applications are now open: Current Year 12 students can apply for a 12-month position in the Air Force, Army or Navy to begin in 2022.

Drive toward your P's with the L2P Program (Posted: 21/06/2021)

To join the Wynbay L2P program participants must:

  • be aged between 16-21 years
  • hold a current learner permit
  • be unable to access a car or supervising driver
  • commit to obtaining a driver licence
  • live in the Wyndham or Hobsons Bay area
